Last blog for 2009. Summarizing the year and looking forward to a better year to come. In this blog there is also an important request I pass to you from a fellow RVer – so please read on.
Unexpected events in our personal life, at work and in the economy started a sequence of events that ended up with us becoming a 'Full-Time RVers'. Truth is - we love it! and enjoy every moment we can. On the way, we are learning how to make this huge shift and share those experiences with you.

God Bless Texas
The last couple days in Louisiana have passed pretty fast, but the way to Texas was a whole day by itself. The rough roads, and our ignorance caused us some damage. But hey we are here, and have a great lake view from the window, so here are our adventures on the way

A day in New Orleans
Parlez-vous le français ? (do you speak French?)
J'étais à Nouvelle-Orléans aujourd'hui (I was in New Orleans today)
Wow – what a city – Combination of Paris SOHO, the Jazz Capital of the world, an Historic Battle Field, and one of the best Cajun cuisines you will find. Wild Life, Swamps and nature - the Wet Lands of the USA.
Come join me to a great tour of the Famous French Quarter…

Green Christmas in the south
Awkward start led to happy ending. I think it is all a state of mind.
I hope y’all had a great time today with your friends and family. For us it was a very special day.
It was so great today to meet face to face wonderful people, that just like us, have the passion for nature, outdoors and full time RVing. Lotsa stories today, so read on

Between Chanukah and Christmas
This blog is a mixed up (like most if us) - a little bit of this, and a little bit of that. We are in between holidays, weekends and places.
We moved further west, and had some quiet time between the holidays. I share my thoughts about RV Trip planning, The RV bathroom and essential accessories. Read on…Your comments are welcome

Concluding Mississippi Chapter
Round trip for $3
Monday 12/21/2009 – Woke up late this morning to the view of the sun rays coming through the sky light in the bedroom. It is going to be another beautiful day I thought to myself. We planned to go to Shepherd State park, a few miles away from the campground. We ate a fast breakfast (cereal) and got ready to go. Hmmm… if breakfast is a fast break, is it redundant to say fast breakfast? Just thinking.

Grant us rain, in due abundance, but stop it too, sometimes…
Different Site Same Campground
Another Slide out problem? Oh No!
Saturday 12/19/2009 – So we promised to move this morning to a different site by 10:00 AM. We woke up to a sunny beautiful morning, had coffee (I actually had tea – trying to keep healthy) and started to move everything out of the way, for the slide-outs. I am not sure how Hydraulic pumps work, but we have only one button in our new RV, and it pushes/pulls the slide-outs in one after the other. First the front one – the bedroom, then the living room, then the kitchen. In the middle of the process, the slide-outs stop coming in, and I need to release the button, wait a little while and start again. I am not sure if it suppose to be this way or if something is wrong.Dec 18, 2009
8 days of Mississippi Chanukah rain
Celebrating in the RV
Friday 12/11/2009 - We left Alabama on Friday afternoon, The evening before the first day of Chanukah. The way to Indian Point RV Resort was sweet and short – less then 2 hours. We even had time to go to WAL-MART and get some groceries before we light the first candle.Dec 11, 2009
Moving out of AL – Exodus II
The wait is over
Tuesday 12/8/2009 - Finally got the phone call from the shop! the doors are there. We waited over a month for these doors to arrive. So the guy calls and ask us to be there before 10:00 AM. 2-3 weeks I am after him and now he is in a rush! The place is almost 2 hours away, and we need to pack, unhook and drop the dog at the kennel before that. No way!

Gulf Ventures
Daring to see Bon Secour
Monday 11/23/2009 - After being in the Gulf area for a week, recovering from a Flu, rain and other troubles – it is time to go out and Have some FUNNov 20, 2009
As south as it can get
Metric Miles
Monday 11/16/2009 - Alabama is long! I can tell you that! Three hundred and seventy three miles. Speaking of that always reminds me the endless argument I have with my friends – Metric vs. Empiric. Do you know how many feet are in these 373 miles, or yards? For someone who came from a ‘Metric Country’ it was always a mystery to me how come the US didn’t convert, but this is a long story, so don’t get me started now!Nov 15, 2009
Exploring around the Fort
Feel the (fort) Payne
Friday 11/13/2009 - Still in Will’s creek in Fort Payne. We like this campground and like being in the south. We want to avoid temperature below freezing, so we have to stay in the safety band until February-March, that means we have time, as we are only mid-November.Nov 8, 2009
Playing Hiking in the mountains
Desoto State Park
Sunday 11/8/2009 - We woke up to another sunny Sunday (Isn’t it repeating - Sunny Sun Day?) and started to get ready to go to the state park that was close by. When we choose our campgrounds, we try to choose one that are close to some nature attractions, National Park, State Park or similar, so no wonder that around us there are so many state parks.Nov 7, 2009
Southern Comfort
Lookout mountain
Friday 11/6/2009 - Our campground Will’s Creek is located in North Eastern Alabama, and it is very close to Georgia and Tennessee. We have enjoyed the nice weather in the first week, which passed by very fast. One we thing we noticed right away is that many people are speaking a foreign language in this area, I think it is called Southern. I have no clue about this language, and I can’t understand a word. After Faav Dize the Weekend came Y’all.Nov 2, 2009
ALA-BAMA. Rings a bell?
Gone South
Tuesday 11/3/2009 - When we planned on ‘going south’, Alabama was kind of the official destination of being in the south. Not sure why – maybe because of the name, or because there is no state south of it, Whatever the reason is – whenever someone ask us – where in the south? – Alabama was the answer. So we were very excited to finally get there and say – Been to ALABAMA.Nov 1, 2009
The Great Smokies
Touching the skies
Thursday 10/29/2009 - We stopped for the night in a hidden campground on the Blue Ridge Parkways, still in VA. It is called 'Middle Creek Campground' in Buchanan, VA. This time we used GPS to navigate to the site and it took us right there. This campground is not in the middle of nowhere, and it is crowded there, it is way to the side. The owner waited for us and opened the store when we arrived. We really did not use much of the facilities there, as early next morning we were on our way again to the Smokies...Oct 29, 2009
Luray! we are here
The adventure begins
Wednesday 10/28/2009 - We have been in our first campground for a few days, and have settled in. We already called the insurance to put a claim for the RV accident we had, and they came right away and took pictures and measurements. We are very happy with our insurance so far (Progressive) – they work with us and our plans and try to get the RV fixed in one of our destinations. We agreed to get the RV fixed in Alabama, where we planned to stay for a few weeks.Oct 23, 2009
All the beginnings are hard
We had a rough start.
Hit the
Friday 10/23/2009 - So we are at our friend’s winery, having good time and getting ready to leave. We stayed there couple days camping on his yard on the grass. Time to say good bye’s, we make sure the boat is covered and everything is packed, loaded and ready to go.

Time to say good bye’s, we make sure the boat is covered and everything is packed, loaded and ready to go. The beginning - From Vineyard to B&B to RV
It all begun about a year ago, at the end of 2008, in central MN.
We didn't throw the idea away. We slept on it few days, and I think that the idea fell in a perfect time. Our dog breeding kennel did not succeed as the recession started and people didn't buy. We sadly had to close the doors and sell all our dogs for pennies. We were somewhat tired from our long career in IT, so we thought that this might be a not be a bad idea after all. We can help with business management, administration, computerizing the business and develop a web site, while helping in the field work. We even thought to open a small bistro on site, and embed Patti's passion for cooking.
Wine, don’t Whine
Friday 10/23/2009 - An old friend of ours from PA introduced us to a friend of his, thinking we may be able to work together on a winery in North Eastern PA. The idea fell on us like a thunder on a sunny day. Winery? Us? we know nothing about it...We didn't throw the idea away. We slept on it few days, and I think that the idea fell in a perfect time.
