RV Shabbat in CA

It has been just couple days since I posted my last blog post, but these last couple days were so full of events, that if I will wait few more days the blog would either be too long, or I will just forget it. Yesterday was actually a great night, and I am pretty proud of myself for what I prepared, so if you want the menu and recipe, it’s right here, and much more.

Internet RV

Last couple days we have been working without too much happening. We are having lots of fun in the sun and planning our next adventures in the area. This is a perfect opportunity to talk about some technical issue that is extremely important to most of us – Being Always connected to the Internet.

Its not about that

Last post, Jerry and Suzy one of the long time followers of this blog made a comment. They said that it seems like everybody are writing about that weather lately (and they are right). It reminded me a saying that Tiana, the smart pretty daughter of Brenda – the host of the campground in WI once said – “I am not scared of the dark. I am scared of what’s in the dark”. So there – I am not writing about the weather, but about what’s in the weather

Left Overs

It was a strange day today. collecting ends of many strings and finishing things up. Work around the house, in the computer and even dinner – was all left overs. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Mind the Gap

Anyone who lived in London, or even visited the city knows this phrase. “Mind the gap between the train and the platform” says the recording and sometimes the conductor at almost any stop of the Tube – the London underground. This famous saying has some other interesting meanings, use your imagination, but it had a special meaning for me today.

Staying in the cold

It is very cold outside, 27° F, but it is cold almost anywhere in the US right now. As cold as it is, it is the warmest day of this week. I am dreading Tuesday and Wednesday. but decided to stay anyways, and try to make it work.

Circles of Life

Circles of life and nature are opening and closing all the time. End of summer again and the fall is starting. It is a rainy Labor Day weekend this year. My second daughter is 18 – just became an adult, and we are getting ready to leave the are for our second circle around. New friends and family relations are coming to our lives, some are leaving and some are just taking a break. Circles of life.

RVenture

While most of the time it is real fun living in an RV, sometimes it can be a challenge. This is what happened this morning when we didn’t follow the code. We laugh now, but it wasn’t so funny earlier today

Fixing the Rig, roll 1.

That’s it – we are out of the lone star state to a whole new place. New Mexico. On the way we attempted to fix the RV, and it looks like you are going to hear (read) about it more. This is not end of story. So we are on the way to AZ stopping for couple nights in Columbus.

Crossing the lone star

In the last couple days we crossed the great state of Texas from one side to another. Had some adventures on the way but we are safe on the other side. It is freezin’ cold in here tonight – You wanna know how cold? Jump in and read.
P.S. I Did not forget about Patti’s recipe blog, it is coming…

Grant us rain, in due abundance, but stop it too, sometimes…

Different Site Same Campground

Another Slide out problem? Oh No!

Saturday 12/19/2009 – So we promised to move this morning to a different site by 10:00 AM. We woke up to a sunny beautiful morning, had coffee (I actually had tea – trying to keep healthy) and started to move everything out of the way, for the slide-outs. I am not sure how Hydraulic pumps work, but we have only one button in our new RV, and it pushes/pulls the slide-outs in one after the other. First the front one – the bedroom, then the living room, then the kitchen. In the middle of the process, the slide-outs stop coming in, and I need to release the button, wait a little while and start again. I am not sure if it suppose to be this way or if something is wrong.

Moving out of AL – Exodus II

The wait is over

Tuesday 12/8/2009 - Finally got the phone call from the shop! the doors are there. We waited over a month for these doors to arrive.
So the guy calls and ask us to be there before 10:00 AM. 2-3 weeks I am after him and now he is in a rush! The place is almost 2 hours away, and we need to pack, unhook and drop the dog at the kennel before that. No way!

ALA-BAMA. Rings a bell?

Gone South

Tuesday 11/3/2009 - When we planned on ‘going south’, Alabama was kind of the official destination of being in the south. Not sure why – maybe because of the name, or because there is no state south of it, Whatever the reason is – whenever someone ask us – where in the south? – Alabama was the answer. So we were very excited to finally get there and say – Been to ALABAMA.

All the beginnings are hard

We had a rough start.

Hit the Road Mud

Friday 10/23/2009 - So we are at our friend’s winery, having good time and getting ready to leave. We stayed there couple days camping on his yard on the grass. Time to say good bye’s, we make sure the boat is covered and everything is packed, loaded and ready to go.
